Symphony No.1 (2023)

[Full Orchestra]
Budapest Scoring Orchestra, May 22, 2023
Upcoming release under Pinch Records, expected in 2026
Program Notes:

Symphony No.1 is a piece that explores the role of piano in the orchestra. It is also a summary of the composer's musical journey till now. The composer had influence from jazz, metal, and film/ game music. There are a lot of moments featuring piano solos and "background" in all of the three movements. The composer also use bucket mutes, harmonic mutes on his horn writing in order to produce some unique jazzy soundscapes. The first movement is a "standard form" which is inspired by the form of jazz standards repertoires, as well as the second movement. The third movement borrowed the concept of "through composition" in jazz music, with some moments of connection between the old motifs and new motifs, this is also a tribute to one of his favorite composers, Maria Schneider.

The composer uses some complex rhythm, shifting meters and harmonies to create a modern sound for the symphony orchestra.
