Over the past few seasons, some classmates in our program have gone from barely reading sheet music to composing full three-minute orchestral scores. Others with minimal songwriting experience have created jazz-style pieces—all within just one semester. At any conservatory—whether in China or abroad—the content covered in these courses would normally be split into multiple separate classes, costing at least 3–4 times more. Based on my own formal training and the writer’s block I’ve had, I’ve developed a structured and efficient teaching method that emphasizes hands-on practice over lengthy theoretical lessons. My goal is to help you learn effectively and avoid unnecessary hurdles!
