Program Notes:

Shattered Sky is a piece inspired by Japanese game music and popular music. It features both string orchestra and harp which is unconventional instrumentation after the late romantic period. While making the melody sounds "easy", the shifting meters create a contrast with the melodic feature. The Mozart-ish melody in the middle section is accompanied by contemporary harmony, which creates a fresh effect under the theme and variation form. The whole piece is an imagination of the shattered sky.
