In 2024, I was honored to be one of the winners of the David Baker Prize for the Bridges Composition Competition. My work, "Mirror, Floating On The Water," premiered alongside pieces by two other talented composers at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. Strings, with their ability to convey sensitivity and intimacy as well as power, play a central role. I infused this concept into each composition and arrangement, including two of my favorite tunes. After releasing my debut jazz orchestra album, "Scenery In My Story," I experienced a period of writers block regarding large jazz ensembles. Then, this album emerged from that introspection.
